More Information on Ian Cron

Ian Cron

Ian was raised and educated in Greenwich, CT. After graduating from Bowdoin College, Ian worked briefly as a commercial jingle singer and writer. In 1983, he joined the Young Life staff serving as an Area Director in Greenwich, Wilton, New Canaan and Darien CT. In 1990, Ian was named the Associate Regional Director for Young Life's Metro-East Region. Ian earned an MA in Counseling Psychology from Denver Seminary and an M.Div at New York Theological Seminary.

To introduce others to St. Francis of Assisi, he authored Chasing Francis: A Pilgrim's Tale. His literary debut received accolades from The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams.

Thomas Nelson released Ian's new book "Jesus, My Father, the CIA, and Me: A Memoir...Of Sorts" on June 7, 2011. Publishers Weekly praised it as, "Simultaneously redemptive and consoling with bright moments of humor...this story is chock-full of sacredness and hope. Cron is one of only a few spirituality authors who could articulate these themes as poignantly."

In addition to writing and speaking, Ian is an adjunct priest at Christ Church in Greenwich, Connecticut and a doctoral student at Fordham University in Christian Spirituality.

Youth Worker Retreat

August 6-8, 2012

Why Retreat?

We have created an opportunity for you and your family to step out of all the business and demands of youth ministry and into the strong and loving arms of God.  Our hope is that this holy rest will restore your soul and help prepare you for another season of fruitful ministry.

We have carved three days out of the schedule at Youthfront Camp South for vocational youth workers and their families. We set these days aside for you in hopes of providing a place and time for you and your family to get away, laugh and have fun together. While there will be things for you to do, there won't be a program to keep up with. You will have the space and time to do whatever it is you feel like doing.

What to Expect

Fun and laughter.

Available activities include paintball, swimming, riding ATVs, the Blob, disc golf, sand volleyball, basketball, water sliding, and more. Plus other games and activities especially for children.

Time to connect with friends and family.

How about catching up with your wife under a large shade tree? Maybe you'd like to play at the pool with you kids? Or how about relaxing on the snack shack deck talking with friends about your favorite movie of the summer?

Space for your soul to breath.

600 acres of lakefront, woods, a stream and a peaceful campus will help you slow down and breath deep. We will also be observing the Daily Office. Following this beautiful and sacred rhythm is a wonderful way to receive refreshment from the LORD.

Child Care.

We will have high school students on hand to provide quality child care for your kids.
